As part of the Seventh Annual Conference’s program, Sanabel is organizing a session under the “Investment Readiness Track” on June 2nd 2010 from 9:00am – 10:30am, under the title of “Financing Forum: Finding the Right Investor Fit”.
While the microfinance funding landscape has become increasingly complex and diverse, to adapt to the different needs and requirements of both, emerging and mature MFIs, many MFIs face various challenges in securing funds.. The session will focus on MFIs' financing needs and the challenges they face in securing these increasing requirements.
The session will begin with a short presentation by one of the MFIs’ in the region. The presenter will highlight the funding needs of a typical MFIs in the region and the different difficulties they face in securing these funds on the short and long term. A moderator and a panel of MFIs, bankers, donors, and investors will be on stage to answer a set of questions following the presentation. During the last 20 minutes, the floor will be opened for Q&A within the set agenda.
A networking session will be held from 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm, where conference participants will be given time to network with regional and international bankers and investors. The networking session seeks to provide MFIs with an opportunity to establish and develop relationships with a range of financiers. Microfinance practitioners are encouraged to bring supporting financial documents to enhance one-on-one discussions with potential financiers during the breakout session.
